Camp Dates: 12th to 16th August 2024
Camp Times: 12pm – 3pm (attendance for all five days required) half day camp or available as a full day in combination with Art!
Camp Location: Hujjat Primary, Brookshill, Harrow, HA3 6RR
Showcase: Friday 16th August – all parents/carers and families will be invited to attend for a live Debate (time TBC)
Segregation Arrangements: Suitable for boys and girls aged 7-11. Segregation of genders will be accommodated where possible, including lunch and break times, adult supervision will be present at all times.
Academy Syllabus:
Our academy offers a comprehensive curriculum focused on honing key skills essential for effective communication and leadership in a God-centric way of learning. Participants will delve into:
- Introduction to Debating
Understanding debate structure and strategies - The Art of Communication
Building opinions and expressing them effectively - Emotional Intelligence
Understanding the use of emotions in communication and decision-making - Power of Persuasion
Techniques to convince people effectively - Critical Thinking
Developing organised and analytical arguments - Presentation & Debate
Conveying ideas with articulation and confidence
Each module is designed to equip participants with practical tools and insights to excel in debate, communication, and leadership. Simultaneously incorporating the Asma-Ul-Husna to ensure the children are constantly reminded of God!

Day 1: The Art of Communication & Emotional Intelligence
Our Debaters will focus on building opinions and effectively expressing them through fun activities. Understanding the significance of the use of emotions and using them correctly in different situations
Skills gained: Development of oral communication skills and confidence in one’s opinion. Knowledge of emotional intelligence and an understanding of applying these principles.


Day 2: Power of Persuasion, Critical Thinking & Speech Writing
Unlocking the secrets to gaining the power to convince people effortlessly & developing organised and analytical arguments and speeches.
Skills gained: Critical thinking skills including analysis of information and organise arguments and problem solve. Techniques of Persuasion in delivering an argument. Organising thoughts and ideas coherently, improving written and verbal communication.
Day 3: Presentation, Confidence & Responding to Challenges
Building the skills to convey your ideas to your peers with confidence, what is active listening in giving and responding to rebuttals.
Skills gained: Presentation delivery including how to keep an audience engaged. Developing adaptability and quick thinking in thought process.


Day 4: Problem Solving & Professionalism
Learning to think on the spot and responding to questions from the floor and learning to conduct a professional debate.
Skills & Knowledge Gained: Enhancing adaptability and decision-making skills. Structure of a debate and etiquettes of conduct including respect for opposing viewpoints.
Day 5: Logical Reasoning & Preparation for our Debate Championship
Supporting arguments with factual and credible evidence & working as a team to prepare for a formal debate.
Skills gained: Working collaboratively, improving teamwork and coordination skills including respect, understanding and learning to develop interpersonal relationships in a professional environment.
