Camp Dates: 4th to 8th August 2025

Camp Times: 12pm – 3pm (attendance for all five days required) half day camp or available as a full day in combination with Art!

Camp Location: Hujjat Primary, Brookshill, Harrow, HA3 6RR

Showcase: Friday 8th August – all parents/carers and families will be invited to attend for a live Showcase (time TBC)

Segregation & Salaah Arrangements: Suitable for boys and girls aged 7-11. Segregation of genders will be accommodated where possible, including lunch and break times, adult supervision will be present at all times. Arrangements for Zohr Salaah will be available and all attendees will be given the opportunity for prayer.

Academy Syllabus:

Our academy offers a comprehensive curriculum focused on honing key skills essential for effective communication and leadership in a God-centric way of learning. Participants will delve into:

  • Public Speaking Fundamentals
  • The Art of Communication – Building opinions and expressing them effectively
  • Emotional Intelligence – Understanding the use of emotions in communication and decision-making
  • Storytelling with Purpose
  • Power of Persuasion – Techniques to convince people effectively
  • Critical Thinking & Expression – Developing organised and analytical arguments
  • Presentation – Conveying ideas with articulation and confidence

Each module is designed to equip participants with practical tools and insights to excel in debate, communication, and leadership. Simultaneously incorporating the Asma-Ul-Husna to ensure the children are constantly reminded of God!

Day 1: The Art of Communication & Emotional Intelligence

Participants will explore the fundamentals of public speaking, including tone, body language, and the importance of Niyyah (intention). Engaging activities will encourage building and expressing opinions through authentic, God-conscious communication.

Skills gained: Development of oral communication skills and confidence in one’s opinion. Knowledge of emotional intelligence and an understanding of applying these principles. 

Islamic Focus: Understanding the importance of intention (Niyyah) in speech

Day 2: Crafting Impactful Messages – From Thought to Word

Unlocking the secrets to gaining the power to convince people effortlessly & developing organised and analytical arguments and speeches. We will also be introducing storytelling techniques for TEDx Speeches.

Skills gained: Structured speech writing skills, learning how to use storytelling for impact when delivering a presentation. Critical thinking skills including analysis of information and organisation of arguments. Techniques of Persuasion in delivering an argument.

Islamic Focus: Truthfulness in speech (sidq) & the responsibility of conveying a message clearly and justly

Day 3: Mastering Delivery – Confidence & Connection 

Building techniques to deliver TEDx speeches and record podcasts confidently. 

For our podcasters:- Introduction to podcasting basics: how to host, interview, and engage an audience while embodying humility and respect.

For our TEDx speakers:- Using emotion and humour to tell your story and design a unique speech.

Skills Gained: Presentation skills. Basic podcast recording and hosting techniques. Active listening and quick thinking. Responding gracefully to feedback

Islamic Focus: Humility (tawadu’) in speech

Day 4: Professional Communication – Adab, Etiquette & Problem Solving

Focus on professional conduct: Islamic adab (manners) in speech and dealing with challenges during live sessions. Exploring teamwork in podcast production and live presentations.

Skills & Knowledge Gained: Enhancing adaptability and decision-making skills. Professional speaking etiquette & conflict resolution in communication. Learning 
teamwork and collaboration & thinking on the spot.

Islamic Focus: Adab (manners) in speech

Day 5: Refining & Polishing – the importance of rehearsal

After a week of discovering their voice, sharpening their message, and learning the adab of powerful communication, today is the moment to step forward with courage and tawakkul.

Participants will rehearse and refine their TEDx-style speeches or podcast episodes, supported by their peers and mentors. But more than performance—this is a day of intentional expression. They’ll reflect on how their voice can be a tool for positive change.

We’ll guide them through naming and presenting their work with purpose and ihsaan. The final showcase is not just an event; it’s a celebration of every child’s growth, effort, and voice.

Skills gained: Working collaboratively, improving teamwork and coordination skills including respect, understanding and learning to develop interpersonal relationships in a professional environment.
